Swansea City are close to signing a left-back on loan as Vitor Matos moves towards finalising the squad he wants for the new Championship season.<\/p>\n

Matos expects a swoop to land a left-sided defender to provide cover for Josh Tymon to be finalised in the next few days.<\/p>\n

Swansea are also in the market for a central midfielder having sold Ethan Galbraith and lost loanee Malick Yalcouye this summer, while another option at centre-back is also on the club’s radar.<\/p>\n

The Championship side have brought in attacking midfielders Elijah Just, Joseph Opoku and Moussa Yeo and defender Stephen Welsh so far this summer.<\/p>\n

“The market is still open, and when it’s open there’s always possibilities, and that’s where are at the moment,” Matos said.<\/p>\n

“Of course we need a little more depth in some parts of the pitch and we are working on that. That’s the project.”<\/p>\n

Marko Stamenic started at the base of midfield as Swansea beat Leganes 1-0<\/a> in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday, with Just and Melker Widell playing in more advanced roles behind Adam Idah.<\/p>\n
