According to reports, Liverpool<\/a> are now open to offloading Cody Gakpo as they continue their pursuit of PSG star Bradley Barcola.<\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a>\u2018s top priority in this summer\u2019s transfer window has been to sign a new top-level winger to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah.<\/p>\n

However, this has not been easy and the Reds have already missed out on Yan Diomande and Michael Olise.<\/p>\n

Still, reports in recent days have indicated that they are increasingly likely to sign Barcola, who is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield and has informed PSG that he does not want to extend his contract beyond 2028.<\/a><\/p>\n

Barcola <\/a>was only a bit-part player for PSG last season, but he remains one of Europe\u2019s standout wingers and would be a statement signing for Liverpool.<\/p>\n

And his potential arrival could leave Gakpo surplus to requirements at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Gakpo was among a host of Liverpool players who underperformed last season, and with the Premier League giants investing in youngster Rio Ngumoha, the Dutchman would likely be their third-choice on the left flank if he stayed following the arrival of Barcola.<\/p>\n

So, it is not too surprising that Anfield Watch are reporting<\/a> that the Reds are now \u2018open\u2019 to selling Gakpo, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and others this summer.<\/p>\n

According to the report, Liverpool want around \u00a372m to sell Gakpo this summer as a \u2018set price\u2019.<\/p>\n

They explain: \u2018Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool are open to selling Gakpo as a result. They\u2019ve set an asking price of around \u00a372m for the Dutchman, or around \u20ac85m.<\/p>\n

\u2018This valuation comes on the back of Anthony Gordon joining Barcelona for \u20ac80m (\u00a369m). We imagine that\u2019s Liverpool saying that Gakpo is more experienced and a little more proven than Gordon, and should therefore cost a fraction more. Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the winger, as has been reported in several places.\u2019<\/p>\n

Liverpool \u2018optimistic\u2019 over \u00a3100m Bradley Barcola deal<\/p>\n

Regarding Barcola, a new report from journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke for Football Insider claims the Reds are \u2018optimistic\u2019 of \u2018agreeing\u2019 a deal for the PSG for around \u00a3100m, which would be below his reported \u00a3120m valuation.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Rourke explained: \u201cThe problem is trying to agree a fee with PSG.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously PSG are holding out for big money, around \u00a3120 million for Barcola. Liverpool don\u2019t really want to pay that much for him. They\u2019re hoping they can get him for under \u00a3100million plus add-ons, with incentives, maybe, to bring that deal closer to PSG\u2019s valuation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgain it\u2019s a deal that\u2019s ongoing. There\u2019s optimism, I think, on Liverpool\u2019s side that the deal can be done, especially now if they\u2019ve got the thumbs up from the player\u2019s side that he would be keen to make that move to Anfield, and that\u2019s big factor in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
