\n The event is called the Brandywine festival and is taking place September 9-13 at Weston Park estate in South Staffordshire.\n<\/p>\n
\n The estate is to be transformed into ‘The Shire’ where the fictional Hobbits live, as the people attending dress up as them and stay in character the whole day.\n<\/p>\n
\n The festival’s organiser Thomas Miller told BBC Shropshire that he was “Excited to bring the festival to the UK right on the doorstep of Tolkien’s childhood home.”\n<\/p>\n
\n “We really wanted to find a place that had this feeling that Tolkien had been there, and the Weston Park estate was perfect!”\n<\/p>\n
\n An iteration of the festival took place last year in Kentucky which he called a “success”, despite inevitable “growing pains”.\n<\/p>\n
\n The festival will feature “100s of Hobbits cooking around campfires, singing and dancing, everyone there will be roleplaying as a Hobbit.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The event can also be visited on a day ticket on Saturday, September 9.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The event is set at a very specific time narratively, Gandalf and Frodo have left the shire, and the Hobbits that visit will be amongst the common folk” added the organiser.\n<\/p>\n
