{"id":724750,"date":"2026-08-02T17:54:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T17:54:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/724750\/"},"modified":"2026-08-02T17:54:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T17:54:19","slug":"bare-knuckle-carlisles-mickey-nolan-wins-on-bkfc-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/724750\/","title":{"rendered":"Bare-knuckle: Carlisle&#8217;s Mickey Nolan wins on BKFC debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The Botcherby fighter defeated John Ferguson in a hard-fought middleweight contest in Newcastle.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Nolan earned a unanimous judges&#8217; decision after his battle with Ferguson went the full five-round distance at Walker Activity Dome.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It marked a successful first step into the high-profile bare-knuckle arena for the 35-year-old Cumbrian.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Experienced Newcastle-based fighter Ferguson, 38, was Nolan&#8217;s first opponent on the big stage.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The two men traded powerful blows throughout but Nolan got the better of the home-city fighter in the five-round clash.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Nolan and Ferguson embraced at the end of the showdown before the Carlisle man was declared the winner.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The fight featured on a card at BKFC Fight Night Newcastle that was headed by Bradley Taylor&#8217;s UK bantamweight title fight victory over Lewis Garside.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Nolan is the latest Carlisle fighter to impress on the BKFC stage, following the likes of Danny Christie and Kieron Sewell into the top bare-knuckle platform.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Speaking to the News &amp; Star ahead of the Ferguson fight, Nolan said he was excited to get the opportunity to fight on the BKFC stage.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He also hoped his bare-knuckle debut would help raise the profile of Be The Example &#8211; a mindset, fitness and community movement Nolan has been growing in recent times.
