{"id":724793,"date":"2026-08-02T18:32:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T18:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/724793\/"},"modified":"2026-08-02T18:32:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T18:32:12","slug":"fire-crews-tackle-grassland-blaze-at-great-barr-nature-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/724793\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire crews tackle grassland blaze at Great Barr nature reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Eight fire crews are tackling a blaze at a nature reserve in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">West Midlands Fire Service said it was called to a large grassland fire at Barr Beacon, Great Barr, on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Beacon Road has been closed in both directions from B4151 Beacon Hill to Bridle Lane. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The fire service is urging residents to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area where possible. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">West Midlands Fire Service confirmed it was not the only fire it was attending, after fire crews were called to two other fires in the West Midlands area earlier. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A grassland fire broke out in Kingfisher Park in Hay Mills, and six crews attended another fire on Perry Avenue, Birmingham.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Eight fire crews are tackling a blaze at a nature reserve in Birmingham.
