Plans will change in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

Dave Meltzer is reporting that a \u2018major storyline development\u2019 is set to take place during the Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn match set for Sunday\u2019s SummerSlam event. That match in particular will reportedly<\/a> open the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a major storyline development planned in the Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn match tonight,\u201d he writes. \u201cThe current plan is that the match will be changed and there will be several twists in that match. Last night\u2019s hype for Punk vs. Gunther was meant as a swerve and likely for the future but not right away but it was done last night for a reason that will become clear very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The shifting WWE title scene<\/p>\n

Punk successfully defended the WWE Championship<\/a> during Saturday\u2019s SummerSlam event, defeating Cody Rhodes after Randy Orton made his return and laid out Rhodes with an RKO, continuing their feud from the WrestleMania season.\u00a0During the post-show, he called out several people, including Gunther. The Ring General was also successful at SummerSlam, defeating Nick Aldis in what was Aldis\u2019 first-ever match in WWE.<\/p>\n

On last week\u2019s SmackDown, Finn Balor won a qualifying match to face Sami Zayn at SummerSlam, where the winner will become the new number one contender for the WWE title.<\/p>\n
