\n The show, which runs until Monday, August 31, 2026, features new and previously unseen work by Moir\u2014known to many as comedian Vic Reeves\u2014but here celebrated for his lifelong talent as a painter and illustrator.\n<\/p>\n
\n Neo Fauna brings together a collection of colourful and imaginative works inspired by the natural world.\n<\/p>\n
\n Jim Moir said: “I never have started, never stopped drawing.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Ever since I can remember.\n<\/p>\n
\n “And I always, according to who I wanted to be, wanted to be a painter.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The pieces animate familiar British birds such as robins and ravens, created using watercolour, pencil, and charcoal alongside more experimental materials and techniques.\n<\/p>\n
\n The exhibition will not tour to other venues, making this the final chance to view the collection in one place.\n<\/p>\n
\n Experimentation is central to Moir\u2019s process.\n<\/p>\n
\n He often works on several pieces simultaneously, shifting between oils, watercolours, and acrylics while exploring new approaches.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Moir said: “Always experimenting and always trying new things out.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Different types, using different mediums, experimenting to find something that you like.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Since opening in March, the exhibition has received a positive response from gallery visitors.\n<\/p>\n
\n One person wrote: “Went to see Jim Moir \/ Vic Reeves art work. What a treat,” while another said: “Love the vibrancy of the Jim Moir exhibition.”\n<\/p>\n
\n A visitor said: “Came to see Jim Moir paintings, how lucky are we.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Thoroughly enjoyed it.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Cartwright Hall\u2019s wider collections and its setting in Lister Park have also been well received.\n<\/p>\n
\n One reviewer wrote: “We visited for the Jim Moir exhibition, but also checked out the excellent Pre-Raphaelite and other exhibitions.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Wonderful small gallery with excellent staff and beautiful park.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The gallery encourages people to take advantage of nearby attractions during their visit, including the permanent exhibitions, caf\u00e9, and park.\n<\/p>\n
\n There is even the chance to spot some of the birds that inspire Moir\u2019s artwork.\n<\/p>\n
\n Original pieces from Neo Fauna are available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Bradford and District Museums and Galleries.\n<\/p>\n
\n This helps keep the city\u2019s museums and galleries free and open to all.\n<\/p>\n
\n With the exhibition closing at the end of August and no further venues planned, visitors are encouraged to plan their trip soon.\n<\/p>\n
