{"id":725787,"date":"2026-08-03T10:02:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T10:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/725787\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T10:02:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T10:02:13","slug":"just-one-month-left-to-see-jim-moirs-colourful-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/725787\/","title":{"rendered":"Just one month left to see Jim Moir\u2019s colourful exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The show, which runs until Monday, August 31, 2026, features new and previously unseen work by Moir\u2014known to many as comedian Vic Reeves\u2014but here celebrated for his lifelong talent as a painter and illustrator.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Neo Fauna brings together a collection of colourful and imaginative works inspired by the natural world.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Jim Moir said: &#8220;I never have started, never stopped drawing.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Ever since I can remember.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;And I always, according to who I wanted to be, wanted to be a painter.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The pieces animate familiar British birds such as robins and ravens, created using watercolour, pencil, and charcoal alongside more experimental materials and techniques.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The exhibition will not tour to other venues, making this the final chance to view the collection in one place.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Experimentation is central to Moir\u2019s process.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He often works on several pieces simultaneously, shifting between oils, watercolours, and acrylics while exploring new approaches.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mr Moir said: &#8220;Always experimenting and always trying new things out.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Different types, using different mediums, experimenting to find something that you like.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Since opening in March, the exhibition has received a positive response from gallery visitors.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  One person wrote: &#8220;Went to see Jim Moir \/ Vic Reeves art work.
