{"id":726265,"date":"2026-08-03T16:11:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T16:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/726265\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T16:11:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T16:11:09","slug":"new-toucan-crossing-proposed-in-fakenham-to-improve-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/726265\/","title":{"rendered":"New toucan crossing proposed in Fakenham to improve safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Norfolk County Council has proposed building a toucan crossing on Greenway Lane, near the junction with Holt Road, along with other safety improvements aimed at protecting those travelling around the town.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The plans also include changes at the Holt Road and Thorpland Road junctions, where shared-use paths and a refuge island would be created, narrowing the junctions and making it easier to cross.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\" alt=\"Map of the area with the proposed toucan crossing\"\/>The plans for the new crossing (Image: Norfolk County Council)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Cllr.
