The father of four-time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/formula-1\" title=\"Formula 1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a> world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/max-verstappen\" title=\"Max Verstappen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Max Verstappen<\/a> came in third alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul.<\/p>\n<p>While Max enjoys the summer break in Formula 1, Jos was back in action this weekend, behind the wheel of his \u0160koda Fabia RS Rally2.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally featured six timed stages, each run twice\u2014four on Friday and the remaining eight on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250727-0355.jpg@webp.webp\" class=\"w-auto\" alt=\"Jos Verstappen\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Jos Verstappen<\/p>\n<p>Jos Verstappen third during German rally<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen started Saturday\u2019s first four stages with three third-place finishes and one fourth. That left Max Verstappen\u2019s father in fourth overall, the same position he had ended Friday in. Things changed on the ninth stage when Julius Tannert, who was second overall at the time, crashed and retired, promoting Jos to third place.<\/p>\n<p>He held onto that spot despite losing a minute on the final stage of the day, which saw him finish fifteenth for that stage. The setback didn\u2019t affect his overall position\u2014Jos and co-driver Jamoul secured third place and claimed a podium finish.<\/p>\n<p>Holiday of Max Verstappen and Kelly PiquetSon Max was first on holiday in Portugal with his family and the family of girlfriend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/kelly-piquet\" title=\"Kelly Piquet\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kelly Piquet<\/a>. The Dutchman was later spotted on the Italian island of Sardinia, where he also stayed in July.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/breaking-news\/confirmed-wolff-and-verstappen-really-met-in-italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Red Bull Racing driver met with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff this week, although GPblog can confirm it was a friendly meeting.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jos Verstappen clinched a podium finish at the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally.
