Aston Villa\u2019s appeal to register promising teenager Brian Madjo has proved successful.<\/p>\n

Villa had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after the 17-year-old striker was prevented from playing in official competition due to Fifa\u2019s rules on the international transfer of minors.<\/p>\n

Enfield-born Madjo, who left England at a young age and was raised in Luxembourg, joined Villa from French club Metz in January.<\/p>\n

Madjo has scored scored four goals in pre-season so far, including two in the 5-0 friendly win at Walsall.<\/p>\n

A club statement read: \u201cThe court\u2019s decision today means that Brian will be registered as an Aston Villa player and eligible to play in official competition matches for the forthcoming season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fifa\u2019s chief of global football development Arsene Wenger says Gianni Infantino\u2019s decision to withdraw from a plan to sell stakes in a World Cup company to private investors was \u201cabsolutely necessary and beyond question\u201d.<\/p>\n

Former Arsenal manager Wenger issued a statement on Tuesday morning a week on from the first reports emerging about Infantino\u2019s plan to create Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) and sell a 20 per cent stake in it to private equity.<\/p>\n

The plan was rejected by three continental confederations, with Uefa going further and threatening to boycott the World Cup and other Fifa competitions if it was not dropped.<\/p>\n

Wenger did not indicate any intention to follow Infantino\u2019s senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro in quitting the organisation, but made clear he was opposed to the FFE plan, saying he believed in Fifa serving the game with \u201ccommitment, transparency, and integrity\u201d.<\/p>\n
