Bathing advice at Sandwich Bay has been lifted after a burst sewer pipe led to concerns about pollution.<\/p>\n
The Environment Agency had advised people not to enter the water after a Southern Water wastewater main burst in Kent.<\/p>\n
Dover District Council said sewage had been discharged into a stream near the River Stour following the incident.<\/p>\n
Southern Water said wastewater was rerouted within its network while repairs took place. The company said independent environmental specialists had been carrying out water quality sampling and environmental monitoring, and latest results showed any initial impact had passed.<\/p>\n
