{"id":728863,"date":"2026-08-06T01:52:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T01:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/728863\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T01:52:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T01:52:19","slug":"gbi-adds-4-for-walker-cup-though-tyler-weaver-wds-from-u-s-amateur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/728863\/","title":{"rendered":"GB&#038;I adds 4 for Walker Cup, though Tyler Weaver WDs from U.S. Amateur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four players joined British Amateur champion Stuart Grehan on this year\u2019s 10-man Great Britain Ireland <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/championships.usga.org\/walkercup.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Walker Cup<\/a> team.<\/p>\n<p>Englishmen Tyler Weaver, Luke Poulter and Eliot Baker, plus Scotland\u2019s Niall Shiels Donegan all earned automatic berths via the World Amateur Golf Ranking on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>All five aforementioned players were part of last year\u2019s squad that lost at Cypress Point.<\/p>\n<p>Grehan, at No. 22 in the world rankings, would\u2019ve been the fifth selection off the world ranking had he not already qualified.
