We have reached a height of 430 meters out of 1000+ m, Praise be to God, the work continues, and we will complete the tallest tower in the world\u2019, he wrote in his latest update.<\/p>\n<p>He added in a separate post: \u2018The numbers clearly tell the story.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>How tall will the Jeddah Tower be?<\/p>\n<p>At a projected full height of 1000m, or 3281ft, the Jeddah Tower will be the tallest manmade structure in the world.<\/p>\n<p>It will surpass the current record holder, the Burj Khalifa, by at least 180m \u2013 but it will only have four more occupied floors than the current record-holder.<\/p>\n<p>The skyscraper would also stand taller than <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/england\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England<\/a>\u2019s highest natural peak, Scafell Pike, which reaches 978m above sea level.<\/p>\n<p>The mixed-use development is currently on schedule for completion by August 2028, although the project has experienced several setbacks relating to its complex structure.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, spades first went into the ground back in 2013; however, the build was put on hold indefinitely in 2017 after several senior executives became embroiled in a corruption scandal.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/SEI_307441717-01f8.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-29305789\" alt=\"Jeddah Tower Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tAt its full height, the Jeddah Tower will top out at at least 1,008 metres, higher than Britain\u2019s highest natural peak (Picture: AS+GG)<\/p>\n<p>The project was revived in 2023, and construction picked up again in January 2025, with some 5,200 workers currently on site.<\/p>\n<p>To reach the extreme height, contractors will need to pump concrete one kilometre up using a single system \u2013 an unprecedented feat.<\/p>\n<p>According to original plans, the building will have 56 elevators \u2013 seven of which will be double-decker \u2013 to whizz people up to each of the 167 occupied floors.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia is no stranger to mega infrastructure projects, some of which have yet to come off or have been abandoned.<\/p>\n<p>These include the shelved development The Line, a 170km long \u2018smart city\u2019, which was part of the planned Neom city on the tip of the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>What will be in the Jeddah Tower?<\/p>\n<p>Forming the centrepiece of the Jeddah Economic City project, a 57million square foot development 20km from Jeddah\u2019s city centre, the colossal tower is set to be mixed residential and commercial use.<\/p>\n<p>At its heart will be a luxury Four Seasons hotel, as well as office space, and apartments for rent.<\/p>\n<p>It will also be home to the world\u2019s highest observation deck on the 157th floor, known as the sky terrace and set to boast spectacular views of the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/SEI_307441438-74ee.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-29305718\" alt=\"ATTENTION: For the full PHOTO ESSAY text please see Advisory Notice epa06783935 Mandatory Credit: Photo by Amel Pain\/EPA-EFE\/Shutterstock (9724577c) (43\/43) A view of the Jeddah Tower rising to about 300 meters as work progresses on construction of the record breaking structure in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 05 May 2018.
