Cam Young burst out of the blocks in 2026, winning The Players Championship and the Cadillac Championship within the first few months of the season.<\/p>\n

However, Young has been fairly quiet since then, his runner-up finish at The Open Championship last month notwithstanding.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old will be keen to finish the 2026 season strongly, with three huge playoff events on the horizon.<\/p>\n

However, Cam Young<\/a>\u2018s focus right now is entirely on winning the Wyndham Championship this week at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Young was disappointed with some of his golf at the Rocket Classic<\/a> last week, but his T-8 finish was definitely a respectable performance.<\/p>\n

Now his aim will be to win for the third time this season, as the race for the PGA Tour Player of the Year heats up.<\/p>\n

Young spoke to reporters on Tuesday at Sedgefield Country Club ahead of the Wyndham Championship.<\/p>\n

He was asked to share his thoughts on how he feels about his game right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I feel like I\u2019m playing well, so when that underlying sense is there, I\u2019m just excited to go play,\u201c Young admitted. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the fun part about this job is when things are going well, like the fruits of that are pretty cool. <\/p>\n

\u201cI love being in contention, love having chances to win golf tournaments and I just love competing, especially when I feel like I\u2019m in a place that anything is possible. That\u2019s kind of how I feel right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, these four weeks, I\u2019m just excited to kind of put my nose down and play. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll evaluate it when the season\u2019s over. But I feel like I\u2019m in a good place to play some good golf.\u201c<\/p>\n

Why Cam Young enjoys playing longer stretches of consecutive tournaments<\/p>\n

Young was asked by one reporter why he chose to play five consecutive events to finish off the 2026 PGA Tour season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t do it as much, but I actually do enjoy the longer stretches because I feel like you get into a rhythm where I know I have four weeks and I know I\u2019m going to hit some bad shots,\u201c he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes it easier in a sense to let go of some of the things that happen throughout each day out here.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re going to run into resistance at some point. Rarely do you have nine holes or almost never a full day where it\u2019s just easy. <\/p>\n

\u201cKnowing that I\u2019ve got a lot of rounds of golf to play between now and the end of the Tour Championship, I think it\u2019s easier in a sense to kind of put aside whatever happens and just keep going forward, keep putting one foot in front of the other.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, that\u2019s kind of my mindset these four weeks is just keep stacking as many good shots as I can and, like I said, evaluate it at the end.\u201c<\/p>\n
