George O\u2019Connor says it would be a \u201cdream come true\u201d if the new Worcestershire recruit was to make his Metro Bank One Day Cup bow at Hove on Friday.<\/p>\n
Signing on with the Club just last weekend for the remainder of the competition, George has been around the team for the entirety of the summer, impressing with performances in the 2nd XI since his debut back in 2024.<\/p>\n
With all-rounders Matthew Waite and Ethan Brookes on the injury list, and seam bowling stocks having taken a hit courtesy of the hip-injury sustained by Jack Home, O\u2019Connor was added to the squad ahead of last week\u2019s trip to Essex.<\/p>\n
With Ben Gibbon having only recently returned from a hand laceration, Adam Finch away at The Hundred and Tom Taylor having featured in every competitive fixture so far this summer, O\u2019Connor is in contention to make his competitive debut for the Rapids at Hove on Friday.<\/p>\n
Having trialled with other counties in more recent times, the tall and pacey seamer impressed both Alan Richardson and Richard Jones in recent weeks, starring for the Rapids in their 50-over National Counties Showcase game against Herefordshire last month.<\/p>\n
If given the opportunity to play, O\u2019Connor said it would be a real honour to represent the Club.<\/p>\n
