The funding arrives at a critical moment for grassroots venues, with figures showing more than half failed to make a profit last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Labour’s “Turn It Up: Our Plan for Music” includes the \u00a345m Music Growth Package, alongside investment in library music spaces and youth mentoring programmes.<\/p>\n

Ramesh Satguru, co-founder of the iconic nightclub Motion, which closed its original venue last year<\/a>, welcomed the government’s support.<\/p>\n

He hopes funding for venues will help foster more human connection.<\/p>\n

“The Turn it Up policy document is amazing,” he says.<\/p>\n

“It seems like the doors are opening for people to have fun.”<\/p>\n

Over the years, Andy Burnham has been vocal about his love for music, and revealed he visited Manchester’s iconic nightclub, the Ha\u00e7ienda,<\/a> in his youth.<\/p>\n

“To have people in positions of power that have experience at legendary nightlife establishments – we’re only going to see a better understanding of the scene,” says Satguru.<\/p>\n
