A Valencia spokesperson told letsrecycle.com: \u201cFollowing completion of key engineering milestones onsite, Erin landfill will re-open for limited tipping of waste in the coming days.<\/p>\n

It is understood that the site will gradually work its way up to accept usual volumes.<\/p>\n
The site has been the target of hundreds odour complaints in recent months<\/a>, with residents complaining of a \u201csickening smell\u201d and \u201ca plague of flies\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n It is unclear whether the ongoing engineering works were related to these issues.<\/p>\n Erin was one of seven landfills which Valencia confirmed as closed<\/a> \u201cfor engineering works\u201d last week.
