Tony Finau will have one more shot at making the FedEx Cup this weekend at the Wyndham Championship.<\/p>\n

Finau posted a second-round 66 to make the cut on the number, after opening up with a round of 71 on Thursday.<\/p>\n

2026 has been a really challenging year for the 36-year-old from Utah, with only one top-10 finish to his name on the PGA Tour in 21 starts, as well as six missed cuts.<\/p>\n

Tony Finau<\/a> requires at least a two-way tie for third this week at the Wyndham Championship<\/a> in order to make the FedEx Cup<\/a> playoffs.<\/p>\n

Finau described golf as a \u2018crazy game\u2019<\/a> just last week, highlighting how quickly things can change.<\/p>\n

And now he needs a couple of rounds in the low 60s over the weekend at the Wyndham Championship to prolong his season.<\/p>\n

Tony Finau took drastic measures to make the cut at the Wyndham Championship<\/p>\n

Finau fought back incredibly well to make the cut on Friday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

He played some really solid golf on day two of the Wyndham, making five birdies and a solitary bogey during his round of 66.<\/p>\n

However, it certainly wasn\u2019t easy for the six-time PGA Tour winner to compile the score that he did on Friday.<\/p>\n

The popular American is no stranger to taking drastic measures midway through tournament rounds in order to turn the tide.<\/p>\n

And he did exactly that during his second round of the Wyndham Championship on Friday.<\/p>\n

Finau can be seen trying the one-handed putting method in the below video posted on the PGA Tour\u2019s official X account<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Finau ranks 80th in strokes gained putting through two rounds of the Wyndham Championship this week, having lost 3.477 strokes on the field.<\/p>\n

On Friday when Finau switched to putting one-handed midway through the round, he lost 0.626 strokes on the field on the greens.<\/p>\n

However, that was an improvement from Thursday during his first round when he lost 2.852 strokes putting.<\/p>\n

Tony Finau has struggled on the greens all season long, and he is currently ranked 108th in strokes gained putting.<\/p>\n

Amazingly, though, his performance with the flat-stick in 2026 has actually improved from the past three seasons, when he ranked 124th, 156th and 125th respectively in strokes gained on the greens.<\/p>\n

He clearly needs to address his putting woes if he is to ever return to the winners\u2019 circle, because putting one-handed is certainly not a long-term fix.<\/p>\n
