Community Shield<\/a>.<\/p>\nTop-flight football has this season been pushed back by a week due to the extended 2026 World Cup, with all players competing allowed three weeks off between seasons.<\/p>\n
That means that the Community Shield, the traditional curtain-raiser to the Premier League campaign, is also being played at a new date – and at a new venue.<\/p>\n
It is the first time the fixture will be played outside England for 20 years.<\/p>\n

Arsenal vs Manchester City is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026.<\/p>\n
The game will kick off at 3pm BST.<\/p>\n
Arsenal are gearing up for their 25th appearance in the Community Shield, formerly known as the Charity Shield. They have won it 17 times.<\/p>\n
Man City are set for their 17th appearance, having won it on seven previous occasions.<\/p>\n
The last time Arsenal appeared in the curtain-raiser as English top-flight champions, the Community Shield was also played in Wales.
