Jackson Koivun has continued his dream start to life on the PGA Tour by securing a spot in the FedExCup Playoffs.<\/p>\n

In fact, the 21-year-old has claimed the 70th and final spot for the Playoffs, which get underway next week.<\/p>\n

It comes after his T29 finish at the Wyndham Championship, which was won by Michael Brennan at Sedgefield Country Club.<\/p>\n

Koivun<\/a> has now done his best to summarize his superb achievement, which has involved matching a record of legendary golfer Tiger Woods<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After making just his fifth PGA Tour<\/a> start as a professional, Koivun was asked by the media if he arrived with any expectations or goals ahead of the Playoffs starting.<\/p>\n

He responded: \u201cI mean, obviously I wanted to make the Playoffs and I knew that was a farfetched goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I told myself back in June that I would be sitting at 70 and waiting it out in Greensboro, I think I\u2019d be pretty happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

And when asked what it means to match Woods with having the fewest starts to make the postseason, he said: \u201cIt\u2019s pretty cool.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously whenever you\u2019re in the record books with Tiger it\u2019s a good name to get acquainted with. Not quite there yet, so just got to wait it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Koivun, who won the recent 3M Open, did indeed face a nervous wait regarding his Playoffs spot, but the rising star ultimately did enough to get over the line at the Wyndham Championship.<\/p>\n

In doing so, he has also become the first PGA Tour University No. 1 or PGA Tour University Accelerated graduate to advance to the Playoffs in the same season he accepted membership.<\/p>\n

Brooks Koepka and Keegan Bradley miss out on FedExCup Playoffs<\/p>\n

While Koivun has secured his place in the upcoming FedExCup Playoffs, many high-profile players have failed to do so.<\/p>\n

Most notably, Brooks Koepka labelled his Playoffs failure \u201cpathetic\u201d<\/a> after missing out, and he has been joined by recent USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley.<\/p>\n
