Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn was just recently asked for an update for a proposed heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, which still hasn\u2019t officially had its venue announced. In recent months it\u2019s been a big talking point about where the fight actually takes place, and while the UK would seem to be the obvious choice, it seems that others involved are more keen on bringing the fight Stateside.<\/p>\n
So, when asked about where things currently stand, Hearn says the fight is being proposed for Madison Square Garden in New York City, despite his feeling that it\u2019s better suited to take place in front of home fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe signed for this fight in the UK,\u201d Hearn said. \u201cWe are desperate to deliver this fight for UK fans. However, everybody else wants the fight in America \u2014 Turki Alalshikh, Netflix. I can\u2019t speak on behalf of Tyson Fury, I don\u2019t see him kicking up a fuss. Madison Square Garden. So, they\u2019re telling us this is the place it\u2019s going to do the biggest numbers, this is the place it\u2019ll be the biggest fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cI disagree. But at the end we\u2019ll fight and we\u2019ll fight and we\u2019ll fight to a point where they\u2019ve breached the contract by doing it in America, or we come to an agreement. Now, these people are our partners and our friends as well. So, it\u2019s very difficult because we wouldn\u2019t have signed the agreement in its form if it was in America. So what we can\u2019t do is just change it like that\u2026We also want the fight to deliver for everybody.<\/p>\n
