Tottenham are prepared to allow Djed Spence to join Inter, with the England defender expected to cost around \u20ac30m (\u00a325.6m).<\/p>\n
Spence \u2013 who started four games at the World Cup, including the semi-final against Argentina \u2013 has fallen further down the pecking order at Spurs after the arrival of Andy Robertson from Liverpool. He signed a new four\u2011year contract in north London at the start of last season but is believed to be keen on joining the Italian champions, with Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro expected to be Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s preferred full\u2011backs this season.<\/p>\n
Talks are ongoing over a fee for the 26-year-old as Inter search for a replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who joined Real Madrid this summer. But personal terms are not believed to be an issue and an agreement is likely to be reached that will see Inter pay only slightly more than the \u00a320m fee Spurs paid to sign Spence from Middlesbrough in 2022.<\/p>\n
Inter also held talks with Tottenham over a potential move for Cristian Romero but the Argentina defender looks poised to join Atl\u00e9tico Madrid for a fee of \u20ac40m. They have yet to agree a fee but Romero is expected to move to La Liga despite interest from elsewhere, including the Premier League champions Arsenal.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Spurs \u2013 who have spent almost \u00a3240m this summer on new players, including Sandro Tonali for a club\u2011record \u00a392.5m, confirmed that Micky van de Ven has signed a new five-year contract. \u201cIt\u2019s clear the direction the club wants to go in and I want to be a part of it. I\u2019m excited about what\u2019s to come,\u201d the Netherlands defender said.<\/p>\n
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are in talks to re-sign Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa. The C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire forward spent the second half of last season at Selhurst Park and was part of the side that won the Conference League in May, although Palace decided not to take up an option to sign him earlier in the summer.
