{"id":735584,"date":"2026-08-12T12:28:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T12:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/735584\/"},"modified":"2026-08-12T12:28:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T12:28:13","slug":"nicholas-hoult-joins-harry-potter-tv-show-see-the-cast-so-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/735584\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicholas Hoult joins Harry Potter TV show &#8211; see the cast so far"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Nicholas Hoult, known for his roles in X-Men, Superman and Mad Max: Fury Road, has been cast in the hotly anticipated Harry Potter TV series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The English actor, 36, will play Hogwarts professor Gilderoy Lockhart &#8211; who was portrayed by Sir Kenneth Branagh in the films.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The TV adaptation of JK Rowling&#8217;s best-selling books will reach screens this Christmas, although Hoult will not be seen until season two.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In the stories, Lockhart was a celebrity author of books such as Magical Me before joining Hogwarts as a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry&#8217;s second year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Db6le73FoOs\/\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HBO announced the casting, external<\/a> by quoting the title of Lockhart&#8217;s autobiography and one of his famous lines: &#8220;Magical me indeed. Now, how many autographs would you like?
