Turkish lightweight world champion Elif Nur Turhan has signed with Most Valuable Promotions, bringing a potential unification fight with Briton Caroline Dubois a step closer.<\/p>\n

Turhan was previously signed to Matchroom Boxing but joins MVP as part of a new strategic alliance between the two promotions.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old has won all 14 of her professional bouts, with eight victories by stoppage, and holds the IBF lightweight title.<\/p>\n

“Forces have been joined. As female boxers, we will now move forward with greater strength,” Turhan said.<\/p>\n

“I am excited for the opportunities that will come my way as I look to win more major world titles.”<\/p>\n

Londoner Dubois – also with MVP – will defend her WBC and WBO lightweight titles against American Amelia Moore<\/a> on 29 August on an all-female card in Birmingham.<\/p>\n

American Stephanie Han, the WBA lightweight champion, is also signed to MVP.<\/p>\n

“The Golden Turkish Warrior [Turhan] is one of the most exciting fighters in boxing given her immense punching power and her relentless aggressive, pressure heavy style,” MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said.<\/p>\n

“Signing Elif will allow us to make some of the most exciting fights in boxing.”<\/p>\n

Last month, MVP announced the new partnership with Matchroom, designed to create more opportunities for female fighters across both promotional rosters.<\/p>\n

The agreement is expected to create more crossover opportunities, allowing fighters from both promotions to compete on each other’s cards.<\/p>\n

Turhan joins Australian two-weight world champion Skye Nicolson in making the move from Matchroom to MVP.<\/p>\n
