\"Bethesda<\/a><\/p>\n

An optimised version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered<\/a> launched on Nintendo Switch 2 this week, and despite suffering performance issues for over a year now, Xbox users were disappointed by the lack of an Xbox Series X|S update.<\/p>\n

Just a few months back, Digital Foundry<\/a> highlighted that the remaster was “still broken” due to a potential memory leak that caused the game to go from “annoying” to “practically unplayable”.<\/p>\n

The Switch 2 version seemingly hasn’t fared that much better, but as many have noticed since its release, and later confirmed by Bethesda, the new Nintendo version benefits from “a number of optimizations” the other platforms do not.<\/p>\n

Bethesda is aware of the call to patch the Xbox version, and posted this to their official X\/Twitter<\/a> account:<\/p>\n

“We’ve heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able.”<\/p>\n

Fingers crossed, this means the current optimisations will make their way to Xbox consoles soon, as well as future updates as and when Bethesda gets around to patching the Switch 2 version.<\/p>\n

Despite it’s prolonged patchy existence on Xbox, Oblivion Remastered is still considered an impressive experience<\/a>, which makes its performance problems all the more disappointing.<\/p>\n
