Photo: Christina Ebenezer<\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography__Paragraph-takw91-2 cxinL\">Elvira Dyangani Ose has been appointed artistic director of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), Cape Town. She will start the role on 1 October, succeeding Koyo Kouoh, who was the institution\u2019s director and chief curator from 2019 until her death in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/artreview.com\/koyo-kouoh-pan-african-curator-and-director-of-mocaa-1967-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\">2025<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography__Paragraph-takw91-2 cxinL\">Dyangani Ose is currently artistic director of the 2026\u201327 Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial. She <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/artreview.com\/director-of-macba-steps-down-early\/\" target=\"_blank\">recently stepped down<\/a> from her role as director of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/artreview.com\/elvira-dyangani-ose-to-head-up-macba\/\" target=\"_blank\">MACBA<\/a>, Barcelona, apparently due to incompatibilities between that position and her role as artistic director for the upcoming Abu Dhabi biennial.
