Several LIV Golf players will now play in a DP World Tour event that is supposed to clash with the league\u2019s doomed Team Championship<\/a> in Michigan. <\/p>\n Despite LIV players being told the $40million season finale will not go ahead in recent days, there has still been no official announcement from the league \u2013 adding to the confusion over the tournament which is slated for The Cardinal course at Saint John\u2019s Resort from August 27-30. <\/p>\n Until Wednesday, ground passes and hospitality tickets were still on sale<\/a> \u2013 but a message on the league\u2019s website now reads: \u201cThe tickets you were looking for are no longer available.\u201d Last month, Cleeks GC captain Martin Kaymer told TG at LIV UK that the event has only a \u201cfive percent\u201d chance of taking place, confirming that infrastructure was still to be erected on the course. <\/p>\n Those odds have diminished ever since, with TNT presenter Craig Doyle offering another clue on golf\u2019s worst kept secret while promoting LIV\u2019s next tournament in Indianapolis. \u201cAt this stage, I think we can call it, that is going to be the final event in LIV Golf 2026,\u201d Doyle said on a Sunday broadcast at LIV New York.<\/p>\n TG has reached out to LIV for more information on the impending cancellation, with the league\u2019s finale now set to be moved forward to next week\u2019s event at Chatham Hills. But in the meantime, LIV players have been locking in alternative plans for where they can play, proving that the fate of the team shootout in Michigan is now beyond doubt.<\/p>\n Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin and Adrian Meronk have entered the British Masters \u2013 a $3million event held at The Belfry at the same time the Michigan event is scheduled to take place.<\/p>\n The DP World Tour are inadvertently capitalizing on LIV\u2019s second cancelled event of the season, after the New Orleans tournament was scratched off the schedule in June. It is a boon to tournament host Sir Nick Faldo that home favorite Hatton, the world No.21, will now headline the field at the four-time Ryder Cup venue in Sutton Coldfield.<\/p>\n The field in the English Midlands also includes former Masters champion Patrick Reed and three-time tour winner Eugenio Chacarra, who have both successfully used the European circuit as a landing ground since departing the breakaway league<\/a>. <\/p>\n Hatton\u2019s commitment to the British Masters came after it emerged the DP World Tour would not be offering the same conditional releases to LIV players next season. <\/p>\n
