Photo: PTO/ James Mitchell

While it’s hard to argue that this weekend’s T100 Vancouver will include many of the biggest names in the sport (defending champ Taylor Knibb isn’t here, and the likes of Lucy Charles-Barclay and Kat Matthews haven’t been on a T100 start list so far this year), Saturday’s race is still shaping up to be an incredibly competitive and interesting one. Three Swiss stars (Imogen Simmonds, Alanis Siffert and Julie Derron) are among the top seeds at the event, along with Olympic medalist and T100 Spain champ Georgia Taylor-Brown. Adding to the fun is Canada’s own Paula Findlay, fresh off an impressive IRONMAN debut in Lake Placid. All of which should make for some fun racing here on Canada’s left coast.

First off, here’s the start list for Saturday’s race:

NameCountryT100 RankingImogen SimmondsSwitzerland1Georgia Taylor-BrownGreat Britain2Alanis SiffertSwitzerland4Julie DerronSwitzerland5Nicole Van der KaayNew Zealand7Taylor SpiveyUnited States8Bianca BogenGermany9Sara Pérez SalaSpain10Kate WaughGreat Britain–Ellie SalthouseAustralia15Hannah BerryNew Zealand–Paula FindlayCanada–Lizzie RaynerGreat Britain14Lotte WilmsNetherlands12Daisy DaviesGreat Britain–Audrey MerleFrance17Lena MeißnerGermany–Rebecca AnderburyGreat Britain–Lucy ByramGreat Britain–Lydia RussellUnited States–

Quick Facts:

The race is the third women’s stop in this year’s T100 Triathlon World Tour

Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026

Venue: Locarno Beach, Vancouver, BC

Distance: 100 km – 2 km swim, 80 km bike, 18 km run

Pro Women’s start: 11:05 am Pacific, 2:05 pm EDT, 7:05 pm BST (UK), 8:05 pm (CEST)

Course: Rolling, closed-road bike course, hard-packed trail run.

How to Watch

TriathlonLive.tv will carry the race live and free worldwide, as will the T100 YouTube channel. There are a number of regional partners – you can check out the full broadcast schedule here.

Who to Watch

Saturday’s race features a Swiss who’s who of racing, starting with PTO points leader Imogen Simmonds. She arrives having raced both women’s T100 events this year, taking third at the Gold Coast race and seventh in Spain. Alanis Siffert is here in Vancouver on a hot streak that includes a huge win at Challenge Roth last month, followed by a third-straight win at the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon last week. Then there’s last year’s runner here in Vancouver, Julie Derron, who also took second at T100 Spain and comes to Vancouver off a win over Simmonds at IRONMAN Switzerland in July.

Great Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown appears to be back on her Olympic track again this year after spending 2025 racing up a storm at pretty much every distance she could imagine (including some gravel racing). That doesn’t mean she hasn’t given up on the long-distance race front – she finally took her first T100 victory in Spain earlier this year, which makes her one of the women’s favourites for Saturday’s race.

Taylor-Brown’s countrywoman, Kate Waugh, makes a return to T100 racing this weekend as the reigning T100 world champ. She’s only raced once the year – WTCS Yokohama – after learning the hard way that trying to bounce back too quickly from a soleus muscle tear (it’s a deep calf muscle below the gastrocnemius) is never a good plan.

The other big story for the weekend is Paula Findlay, who will be competing here in Vancouver as not quite a hometown hero, but close enough. The Edmonton native is both extremely well known and popular wherever she races in Canada, so there will be lots of crowd support for her as she races here in Vancouver. Findlay had a spectacular IRONMAN debut in Lake Placid, taking the win and nailing a Kona slot along the way.

Taylor Spivey on the run at last year’s Vancouver T100. Photo: PTO/ That Cameraman

The field of 20 includes many more women who are more than capable of finishing on the podium. American Taylor Spivey took third at T100 Spain and has been consistent on the WTCS scene this year. Daisy Davies has only raced twice this year, but those two races include a win at IRONMAN South Africa and third at Challenge Roth. It will be interesting to see how she fares as she moves into the speedster world of T100 racing – as far as I can tell this is her first go at the distance. We had a great chat with Davies in Roth earlier this year – see below.

While brother Rico was taking third at Challenge Roth last month, Bianca Bogen was winning her first 70.3 race in Sweden (over Marjoleine Pierré), so it will be interesting to see how she fares in her third T100 race of 2026.

Slowtwitch is here in Vancouver this weekend and will be offering up lots more coverage of both the pro and age group racing – the age-group T100 race takes place on Sunday, with sprint- and Olympic-distance races taking place on Saturday along with the pro event. Stay tuned for more!

                                            Tags:T100T100 Triathlon World Tour

Paula Findlay at T100 Vancouver, 2025.
