There\u2019s a quote from Roger Waters<\/a> in this month\u2019s cover feature that sums up the state of the Pink Floyd<\/a> nation during their very ambitious \u2013 and very fractious \u2013 tour supporting The Wall album, which drew to a close 45 years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been pretending we\u2019re all jolly good chaps together,\u201d he said, \u201cbut that hasn\u2019t been true in seven years.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the Gilmour\/ Waters-led Floyd would go on to record one more album together, 1983\u2019s The Final Cut<\/a> \u2013 and quite how they managed that is anyone\u2019s guess \u2013 The Wall tour really did spell the dissolution of the band. Was it the sheer scale and ambition of the trek, the financial ramifications, creative differences or something else entirely that brought things to a head?<\/p>\n
