{"id":738113,"date":"2026-08-14T20:28:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T20:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/738113\/"},"modified":"2026-08-14T20:28:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T20:28:10","slug":"after-opening-in-82-robert-macintyre-withdraws-before-round-2-in-memphis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/738113\/","title":{"rendered":"After opening in 82, Robert MacIntyre withdraws before Round 2 in Memphis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEMPHIS, Tenn. \u2013 Robert MacIntyre withdrew before teeing off in the second round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship with a knee injury, according to the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n<p>MacIntyre, who was playing for the first time since last month\u2019s Open Championship, struggled on an oppressively hot day Thursday at TPC Southwind to a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfchannel.com\/pga-tour\/news\/robert-macintyre-fedex-st-jude-championship-2026-first-round-leaderboard-dead-last\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">12-over 82<\/a>, his worst round on Tour. He had three double bogeys (Nos. 4, 15 and 18), a triple bogey (No. 6) and just one birdie (No. 16) on Day 1. He was last in the field by eight shots.<\/p>\n<p>MacIntyre was scheduled to tee off at 12:55 p.m. ET alongside J.T. Poston, who will now play as a single.<\/p>\n<p>The Scot didn\u2019t specify which knee was injured and his withdrawal was likely compounded by a heat index that sored above 100 degrees on Day 1 at the playoff opener.<\/p>\n<p>MacIntyre also has the luxury of being safely in next week\u2019s field at the BMW Championship at 31st on the FedExCup points list.
