Ted Lasso, of course, is Apple TV\u2019s breakout hit about Sudeikis\u2019 title character, a fish-out-of-water American football coach who skips across the pond to become the head coach of the British soccer team AFC Richmond. After two seasons and two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022, Ted Lasso\u2019s fortunes began to dwindle in what was supposed to be the final season for the series in 2023.<\/p>\n

According to new data from Nielsen (via Variety<\/a>), Episode 1 compiled 296.6 million viewing minutes on Aug. 4 and 5, making it the most-viewed season premiere of a series in Apple TV history. Taking all four seasons into account<\/a>, RT critics\u2019 score is a huge improvement over Season 3, which had an RT critics\u2019 score of 81%, but is behind Season 1 (92%) and Season 2 (98%).<\/p>\n Meanwhile, RT\u2019s audience score for Ted Lasso Season 4 \u2014 which began last week at 89% \u201cfresh\u201d<\/a> on the site\u2019s Popcornmeter based on 50-plus verified user ratings \u2014 has since dropped to 79% \u201cfresh\u201d based on 250-plus ratings.
