Sheryl Crow<\/a> has confirmed details of her 12th studio album, Pick You Up, hitting shelves on October 9th.<\/p>\n The seven-track album was written by the nine-time Grammy Award<\/a> winner and her longtime collaborator Jeff Trott, and will arrive via Old Green Barn Productions.<\/p>\n In celebration of the exciting announcement, Crow has shared the first single from the album, \u2018Freedom Bus\u2019, featuring Jesse Welles, which acts as the album\u2019s closing track.<\/p>\n With an eye on the new tune, Crow shared, \u201cI do not take freedom lightly because our freedom has been paid for in the lives of others throughout history and that is something I wish we could all remember<\/a> when we are interacting with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cOur dialogue and ability to disagree must reflect what has been paid for in the blood, sweat, and tears of those who fought for every man and woman to be created equal and to enjoy the rights that our constitution has allowed each of us.\u201d<\/p>\n \u2018Freedom Bus\u2019 suitably carves the way for the rest of the project, which will examine hope and unity in the same Americana sound she strutted through the 1990s with.<\/p>\n Commenting on the album as a whole, Crow shared, \u201cEach of these songs are a commentary on being human and wanting connection.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cThere is a lot of chaos all around us, and I definitely find myself feeling alone. My wish is that whoever hears these songs feels the hope I feel when I sing them!
