Users bring the two devices close together, then choose which contact details to share. The exchange can go both ways, or users can simply receive someone else\u2019s card without sharing their own.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/google-tap-to-share-ui.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-445954\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Sharing photos and videos works a bit differently. Users select content through the existing Share Sheet interface, choose Quick Share, then bring the phones close together to complete the transfer. Google says the feature relies on a temporary peer-to-peer connection.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, Tap to Share is Google\u2019s answer to Apple\u2019s NameDrop, though it supports more than just contact info.<\/p>\n<p>Android has technically had Quick Share for years, but the process usually meant opening the share menu, finding the other device, then waiting for the recipient to accept.
