{"id":741046,"date":"2026-08-17T18:04:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T18:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/741046\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T18:04:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T18:04:10","slug":"ban-on-illegal-dumping-on-farm-near-st-oswalds-in-gloucester","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/741046\/","title":{"rendered":"Ban on illegal dumping on farm near St Oswald&#8217;s in Gloucester"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A six-month ban has been placed on an illegal dump which &#8220;caused misery&#8221; for the surrounding community. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">More than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/videos\/cewr5xkyj0vo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">200 tonnes of waste had been illegally dumped at Severnside Farm in Gloucester, near St Oswald&#8217;s retail park<\/a>, with Gloucester City Council first made aware of the site in early 2026. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Environment Agency (EA) issued the order on 12 August, meaning it is now a criminal offence for anyone to enter the site and dump waste at any time over the next six months. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The criminals involved in dumping this waste have caused misery for the community and the environment,&#8221; said Nick Green, area environment manager at for the EA. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We are doing everything we can to stop the reckless, illegal handling and disposal of waste,&#8221; added Green, explaining that criminal investigations were underway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He also urged local communities to work with them as &#8220;partners&#8230; acting as our eyes and ears&#8221; so enforcement action could be taken as soon as possible. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A six-month ban has been placed on an illegal dump which &#8220;caused misery&#8221; for the surrounding community.
