\n Photographers submitted images taken from locations including Hudson\u2019s Field, near Salisbury Cathedral and from their own gardens and homes, documenting the changing light as the Moon moved across the Sun.\n<\/p>\n
\n The eclipse reached its peak shortly after 7pm, when the Moon obscured around 90 per cent of the Sun\u2019s light. It was visible across the UK until about 8pm.\n<\/p>\n

\n Solar eclipses occur when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow across part of the planet. While partial eclipses can be seen more regularly, the event drew widespread interest from stargazers and photographers alike.\n<\/p>\n
\n Anyone viewing the eclipse was advised to use approved solar-viewing glasses, as looking directly at the Sun can cause serious and permanent eye damage.\n<\/p>\n
