A former winner of the Great British Bake Off has said “I’m not sure who I am right now” after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. <\/p>\n

Georgina Grasso, from Carmarthenshire, spoke about having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) during her time on the show, and said the reaction from the public had been “incredible”.<\/p>\n

But a new diagnosis has revealed that she has bipolar 2 and autism instead of ADHD, she shared, which has “come as a shock”.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post, Grasso said she needed her fans “now more than ever” as she learns more about the mental health condition.<\/p>\n

Grasso spoke openly about living with ADHD on her way to becoming the first ever<\/a> Welsh Bake Off champion.<\/p>\n

She said she “loved” her role as an advocate, but admitted it left her feeling “completely overwhelmed”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post published on Monday, Grasso said her doctor first mentioned that she could have been misdiagnosed last year, but she “thought there’s no way”.<\/p>\n

“I’m not sure who I am right now, and scared to be judged even more so,” she added.<\/p>\n

Grasso said a lot of things “make sense” following her new diagnosis, which has given her a “bit of relief”.<\/p>\n
