Terence Crawford<\/a>\u2018s longtime trainer Brian \u2018BoMac\u2019 McIntyre has responded to speculation that \u2018Bud\u2019 will return to the ring.<\/p>\n

Crawford hung up the gloves in December following his monumental victory over Canelo Alvarez<\/a> three months earlier, retiring with a perfect 42-0 record and as a five-division world champion<\/p>\n

Since then, he has been continuously linked to a return<\/a>, and those rumours were fuelled by recent training footage. Speaking to Boxing Scene<\/a>, \u2018BoMac\u2019 discouraged any speculation, making it clear that there is no chance Crawford would return, and insists he is only focusing on helping others in the gym.<\/p>\n

\u201cHell no, he ain\u2019t coming back. He\u2019s done. He don\u2019t need to come back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, he\u2019s looking sharp, man. His weight is fine. He\u2019s always in the gym, always playing basketball, always on the move, always training. So he looks good.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou want that as a trainer. You want one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of all time to\u00a0 just come down and hang out and stay with you guys for a group and give his assessments on how things are looking and get the feedback, giving Lester some pointers here and there.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou want that, man.That\u2019s just gratifying to the coaches because, you know, he cares.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe cares about the other guy that\u2019s in his camp, about where their journey\u2019s at, where their journey\u2019s going. So that\u2019s gratifying to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fighter \u2018Bo Mac\u2019 refers to is Lester Martinez, who returns to action on August 29 when he faces Luka Plantic, and if Crawford is helping in the gym, then Martinez could certainly be a dangerous commodity.<\/p>\n
