Whether he intended to or not, Henry Winkler’s recent social media activity added another name to the long, long list of actors who are on audience’s wishlists to play the new James Bond<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Aaron Pierre should be the next BOND,” Winkler tweeted<\/a> on Sunday night after watching the British actor step onto the scene as rookie Lantern-in-training John Stewart on HBO’s Lanterns<\/a>.<\/p>\n Latest Videos FromGamesRadar+<\/p>\n In the 2026 scenes, it’s hard to disagree. Pierre takes over the show in style (literally, too, thanks to that trendy winter attire), showcasing the blend of charm and command that could easily see him working for His Majesty’s Secret Service on the big screen.<\/p>\n Lanterns co-star Kelly Macdonald, who plays Sheriff Kane in the series, wants Pierre to keep on trucking with his role as John Stewart, however.<\/p>\n You may like<\/p>\n “I just feel sorry for anybody that gets [linked] \u2013 it sort of gets spoken about too much,” Macdonald tells GamesRadar+. “Saying yes to a Bond film is a big, big, deal. Lots of people get thrown in the mix. It feels like every week there’s a new person.”<\/p>\n Macdonald adds, “He certainly could be [Bond], but I hope to see him as a Green Lantern for many years to come.”<\/p>\n When we mention Winkler’s tweet to Pierre himself, the John Stewart actor \u2013 who is set to reprise the role in 2027’s Man of Tomorrow<\/a> \u2013 remained humble over the links.<\/p>\n “I think that is an enormous compliment, and I appreciate it greatly. That’s very kind. It’s a very kind thing for someone to say.”<\/p>\n The hunt for the next 007 continues, with producer Amy Pascal recently saying the next Bond actor will be “different” and announced by the end of the year (via Deadline<\/a>).<\/p>\n Whether he likes his martinis shaken or stirred, it appears Pierre is blocking out the noise \u2013 from the spy world or otherwise. Still, Lanterns could yet be an audition for him to earn the number.<\/p>\n Lanterns is now streaming on HBO Max<\/a> in the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n
