She\u2019s one of the country\u2019s beloved presenters, but what do we know about Steph McGovern<\/a>\u2019s real-life romances?<\/p>\n

The journalist and telly star has been a regular face on TV screens for several years<\/a>, thanks to appearances on shows such as BBC<\/a> Breakfast and Netflix<\/a>\u2019s Celebrity Bear Hunt. <\/p>\n

She also hosted her own chat show Steph\u2019s Packed Lunch on Channel 4<\/a> from 2020 to 2023. And turning her hand to writing, in 2025 Steph released her first crime thriller novel<\/a>, Deadline.<\/p>\n

Away from the TV sets and showbiz world<\/a> though, Steph is loved-up with her mystery partner. Here\u2019s everything we know about Steph\u2019s love life.<\/p>\n

Steph often keeps her personal life private and hasn\u2019t revealed her girlfriend\u2019s identity to protect their privacy. It has long been claimed that she works as a TV executive.<\/p>\n

The couple are understood to have been friends for a considerable period before romance<\/a> blossomed between them. She and her partner also have a daughter together that they welcomed in 2019.<\/p>\n

Speaking with The Express<\/a> about her relationship, Steph previously said: \u201cI would just get too mad if I started reading negative things about them. My daughter has no choice and my partner\u2019s not in the public eye, so I wouldn\u2019t want to subject them to the opinions of others.\u2019<\/p>\n

In 2022, Steph lifted the lid on her life behind closed doors and the rule used if she and her partner are \u201cmiffed about something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steph shared: \u201cWhat I\u2019ve learned about relationships is you have to put in the effort. It\u2019s like listening. For example, if I\u2019m ill, I like to be left alone to get on with it – no fuss. Whereas my partner likes to be taken care of.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cWhat I used to do when she was ill was project what I would want, so I\u2019d leave her alone. We\u2019ve had to chat about these things. You\u2019ve got to listen and make compromises.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to Yours Magazine, Steph added: \u201cMy partner and I have this brilliant rule where, if we\u2019re miffed about something, we have 24 hours in which to voice it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means we have some cracking rows, but we solve things fairly quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cIt might be over something small \u2013 like the dishwasher \u2013 but that\u2019s the reason why you\u2019ve got 24 hours to make your point\u2026 so it doesn\u2019t grow into a massive collection of things one of us has done.”<\/p>\n

Steph shared the gorgeous news in 2019 that she and her partner were expecting their first baby together. Their daughter was born in November that year.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Steph made a rare confession about her home life with her partner and daughter, recalling the certain changes they have made as a result of their daughter\u2019s behaviour.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had to put the telly high up on the wall because my daughter, who\u2019s two-and-a-half, is obsessed with pawing the screen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Steph added: \u201cIt was doing our heads in \u2013 every time we sat down [in the] evening, we\u2019d see her handprints all over the screen. Underneath the telly is her little wooden kitchen and all her toys, so that\u2019s our view.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steph on going through ‘utter heartbreak’ \"Steph<\/a><\/p>\n

Although she eventually found love with her partner, Steph previously revealed her past romances didn\u2019t always end too well.<\/p>\n

When discussing songs that evoke strong memories, Steph mentioned earlier this year that Nerina Pallot’s All Bets Are Off transports her back to a time of heartbreak.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Guardian, she explained: “[It’s] about heartbreak and so the song I play when I’m dumped,” adding: “I’ve been dumped at various points in my life in various ways. It takes me back to a time of utter heartbreak and thinking I’ll never get over it.”<\/p>\n
