Approximately two hours into the journey, while cruising at 33,000 feet over Scottish airspace, the crew initiated a sharp U-turn just prior to the Atlantic track entry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after turning back, the flight crew transmitted squawk code 7700\u2014the international aviation signal for an emergency\u2014to air traffic control.
