{"id":744206,"date":"2026-08-20T16:18:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/744206\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T16:18:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:18:09","slug":"race-against-the-tide-sculpting-sand-is-more-tiring-than-you-think","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/744206\/","title":{"rendered":"Race Against the Tide: &#8216;Sculpting sand is more tiring than you think&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A woman competing on a new BBC show in which competitors sculpt sand art said it was a &#8220;brilliant&#8221; and &#8220;tiring&#8221; experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Athena Cauley Yu runs a stationery and calligraphy business in Bath, Somerset, and features in BBC Two&#8217;s Race Against the Tide alongside professional sand sculptor Rachel Stubbs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The series sees seven teams battle it out to build spectacular sand sculptures before the tide washes them away in St Andrews, Scotland, with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She said: &#8220;Someone on the production team actually contacted me and I was like, a hilarious sand sculpting competition?
