Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati. In her fourth-round match, she secured a hard-fought victory over sixth-seeded Mirra Andreeva, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.<\/p>\n

The match lasted about an hour and a half. Kostyuk will play in the quarterfinals on August 20.<\/p>\n

Kostyuk will compete for a spot in the semifinals against the winner of the match between Cori Gauff (USA, 4) and Marie Bouzkov\u00e1 (Czech Republic, 22).<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the tournament in the U.S. state of Ohio will run through August 23.<\/a><\/p>\n

Marta Kostyuk advanced to the fourth round of a WTA 1000<\/a> tournament for the first time in her career.<\/p>\n

Ukraine\u2019s top-ranked player, Elina Svitolina, fell one step short of the final at the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto. In a tense semifinal, the Ukrainian lost in three sets to former world No. 1 Iga \u015awi\u0105tek of Poland.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, on August 11, Elina Svitolina defeated Russia\u2019s Katerina Aleksandrova in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Toronto and advanced to the semifinals. The Ukrainian lost the first set but staged a comeback to win the match in three sets\u20143-6, 6-0, 6-3.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, Ukraine\u2019s top-ranked player, Elina Svitolina, secured a victory in the round of 16 at the prestigious WTA 1000 tournament taking place in Toronto.<\/p>\n
