{"id":746116,"date":"2026-08-22T11:30:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-22T11:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/746116\/"},"modified":"2026-08-22T11:30:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-22T11:30:28","slug":"hope-for-nhs-benjamin-court-in-cromer-to-remain-public-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/746116\/","title":{"rendered":"Hope for NHS Benjamin Court in Cromer to remain public site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  An NHS boss is set to attend the next Save Benjamin Court campaign meeting to discuss a possible future for the Cromer site.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Benjamin Court, a reablement centre providing &#8220;step-down&#8221; care for hospital patients, was shut in June 2023 and has sat empty since.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Beth Manning, head of clinical transformation for community services and older persons at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), will speak about the possibility of creating a neighbourhood mental health hub there, organisers have said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The proposal follows the government\u2019s decision to open similar facilities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Benjamin Court campaigners (Image: Malcolm English)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Ms Manning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edp24.co.uk\/news\/25313981.glimmer-hope-revival-benjamin-court-cromer\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">visited Benjamin Court<\/a> while searching for suitable premises for a hub in North Norfolk.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Campaigners said she was impressed by what she saw.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  However, it is said NSFT is unlikely to need the whole site and campaigners want the remaining space used for health services<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edp24.co.uk\/news\/25742356.fight-reopen-benjamin-court-cromer-enters-third-year\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">, particularly post-hospital rehabilitation<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The Save Benjamin Court group has campaigned for rehabilitation services to return.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The meeting is to discuss what this could mean for the campaign to save and reopen Benjamin Court.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The meeting takes place on Friday, August 28 at 6pm at Cromer Community Centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An NHS boss is set to attend the next Save Benjamin Court campaign meeting to discuss a possible&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":746117,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[43],"tags":[102,2960,56,54,55],"class_list":["post-746116","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-healthcare","tag-health","tag-healthcare","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/746116","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=746116"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/746116\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/746117"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=746116"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=746116"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=746116"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
