Bryson DeChambeau has urged the golf world to be \u201copen-minded\u201d about LIV Golf and to give the league \u201cone more shot\u201d as it attempts to salvage its future. <\/p>\n
DeChambeau is leading the fight for the beleaguered breakaway league, which is playing its final event of the 2026 season this week in Indianapolis against a backdrop of uncertainty. <\/p>\n
LIV chief executive Scott O\u2019Neil has announced he has secured a \u201clead investor\u201d to take the league forward, but a deal could well hinge on players committing to the league and many are believed to be considering pathways back to the traditional tours.<\/p>\n
DeChambeau\u2019s contract expires after the conclusion of the tournament at Chatham Hills but he remains heavily involved in discussions about how LIV could move forward following the withdrawal in backing from Saudi Arabia\u2019s Public Investment Fund.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s tough, it\u2019s not easy,\u201d DeChambeau admitted. \u201cWe definitely have a lot against us, but I think behind the scenes we\u2019ve got a lot of people that are working hard to make this possible for not only all the players that are out here, but all the fans that have come out to these events and the economic impact we\u2019ve made on all these places.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether that\u2019s in South Africa, here in Indy, Australia, numerous places across the world, the UK, the different places we\u2019ve been in the US \u2013 even Nashville, where we played a few years ago was unbelievable.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a bit of a responsibility to continue to show this and, if it works, it works, awesome. If it doesn\u2019t, we\u2019ll figure things out. Time will move on. I would say that time heals things.\u201d<\/p>\n
