Marcus Trescothick would like to remain part of Stephen Fleming\u2019s backroom staff when the incoming head coach takes charge of England\u2019s Test side after their series against Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Trescothick, an assistant during Brendon McCullum\u2019s tenure, has the head coach role for the three Tests against Pakistan and got off to a winning start on Friday, with Joe Root\u2019s side thumping the tourists by an innings and 103 runs<\/a> at Headingley.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to carry on, of course,\u201d said Trescothick when asked if he expects to remain part of the Test group. \u201cFirst and foremost, I want to be involved in all formats of the game because it\u2019s a wonderful place to be, working with the best and seeing England cricketers do well. But that\u2019s not really for me to judge, so I\u2019ll wait and see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

England have yet to announce the coaching staff Fleming will work with, but the former Australia batter Mike Hussey has had a casual approach<\/a> from his former colleague at Chennai Super Kings about joining the Test set-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe get on really well and have worked a lot together,\u201d Hussey told Fox Sports News. \u201cIt was just a bit of a passing comment, really, saying: \u2018Look, what do you reckon? Would you think about being the batting coach?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not been able to give it any thought whatsoever. I\u2019ve just got back from the UK myself with coaching in the Hundred. So I haven\u2019t thought about it at all. Would I? I wouldn\u2019t say never to anything really, whether it\u2019d be England, whether it be Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa. I just love the coaching side of the game and just to be able to work with different players.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hussey has previous experience coaching England, having worked as a consultant when they won the T20 World Cup in Australia four years ago.<\/p>\n

While Fleming\u2019s first series in charge will be against South Africa in the winter, he has been in regular contact with the Test captain Joe Root and Trescothick while they try to get England back to winning ways against Pakistan.<\/p>\n
