\n\tKneecap<\/a> will not face charges over their Glastonbury<\/a> performance, but the investigation into Bob Vylan<\/a> continues. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe local Avon and Somerset Police force said in the past few minutes: \u201cDetectives sought advice from the Crown Prosecution Service during their enquiries and after that advice, we have made the decision to take no further action on the grounds there is insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction for any offence.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe force added that enquiries into Bob Vylan \u201ccontinue to be carried out in relation to separate comments made on stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKneecap\u2019s controversial set, which was not shown live on the BBC<\/a>, included the Irish hip-hop trio chanting \u201cFree Palestine\u201d and \u201cF**k Keir Starmer,\u201d the latter being a reference to the UK Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

\n\tPrior to Kneecap on the same stage, Bob Vylan\u2019s set, which was shown live and remained on the BBC for hours, included chants of \u201cDeath to the IDF,\u201d while the band complained about \u201cworking for a f***ing Zionist.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tKneecap posted on Instagram an email the band\u2019s lawyer received from Avon and Somerset Police\u2019s Senior Investigating Officer saying they would not be charged, with a caption branding the investigation \u201cpolitical,\u201d \u201ctargeted\u201d and \u201cstate intimidation.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAfter the media damage is inflicted and seen by millions of eyes \u2013 you receive a private email to say there\u2019s no evidence and no action \u2013 that is seen by two people only,\u201d added the caption. \u201cThere is no public apology, they don\u2019t send this to media or post it on police accounts.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKneecap\u2019s Liam \u00d3g \u00d3 hAnnaidh, better known by his stage name Mo Chara, is currently bailed on a terror charge<\/a> after displaying a Hezbollah flag at a gig. A separate investigation into the band for allegedly telling fans, \u201cThe only good Tory is a dead Tory\u2026. kill your local MP,\u201d at a gig have been dropped. <\/p>\n
