Pictures<\/p>\n<p>While Matt Reeves\u2019 \u201cThe Batman: Part II\u201d film is currently in the midst of filming, that movie is not officially a part of James Gunn\u2019s DC Universe, seen in the likes of \u201cSuperman,\u201d \u201cSupergirl,\u201d the currently airing \u201cLanterns\u201d and October\u2019s \u201cClayface\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As far as we\u2019ve all been told, the DC Universe Batman will make his live-action debut in the Andy Muschietti-directed \u201cThe Brave and the Bold\u201d film, which was announced with the initial DCU slate a few years back.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, there\u2019s been very little progress.   Christina Hodson (\u201cBirds of Prey\u201d) wrote the latest draft of the script, which is expected to be more about the larger \u2018Bat family\u2019 with Robin, Damian Wayne, etc. involved.<\/p>\n<p>But when will we get some movement on it?  Not for a while, according to journalist <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Danimalish\/status\/2091643821427990631\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dan Marcus<\/a>, who recently spoke with Muschietti and was told that all the work on the film has been put on hold until after the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger is settled.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus was responding to a recent rumour that \u201cObsession\u201d star Michael Johnston was in negotiations to play Dick Grayson\/Nightwing in the film.<\/p>\n<p>Officially, Muschietti is still attached to direct, even as rumours have circulated that Gunn himself may be considering taking over.  The very public failure of \u201cSupergirl\u201d has given rise to questions over the fate of the DCU and whether Paramount\u2019s David Ellison will continue with it once he takes over.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Warner Bros.
