{"id":749398,"date":"2026-08-25T16:24:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T16:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/749398\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T16:24:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T16:24:09","slug":"northants-all-rounder-justin-broad-signs-contract-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/749398\/","title":{"rendered":"Northants all-rounder Justin Broad signs contract extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Northamptonshire all-rounder Justin Broad has signed an extension to his contract, taking it to 2030.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 26-year-old has scored more than 2,000 runs across all formats for Northants since joining the county in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">South African-born Broad, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 season <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/cricket\/articles\/c3ryerrxvpdo\" class=\"ssrcss-1fqyhkk-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with a lower back injury,<\/a> was named the club&#8217;s T20 vice-captain earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Justin is becoming a very valued and important player for us across all formats and we see him as a leader within our group along with all the players that we&#8217;re developing.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/nccc.co.uk\/news\/broad-extends-northamptonshire-contract-to-2030\/\" class=\"ssrcss-1fqyhkk-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said Northants head coach Darren Lehmann, external<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Broad said: &#8220;This has been a tough year for me, but I&#8217;m grateful to the club and coach for showing faith in me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I&#8217;m really excited to try contribute to the club winning many more trophies, and I&#8217;m excited to continue to learn and grow as a player under the coaches.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Northamptonshire all-rounder Justin Broad has signed an extension to his contract, taking it to 2030.
