target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dunfermline<\/a>-based Allan Corfield Architects (ACA) had offered specialist services in the self\u2011build and custom\u2011build <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/topics\/business\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">business<\/a> sectors.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Along with Allan Corfield Structures (ACS), which was established in 2020 to provide structural engineering services to ACA\u2019s clients, the two firms employed 14 staff.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  However, the businesses were handed over to liquidator Shona Campbell, chair of Henderson Loggie, where all employees were made redundant with both firms sold.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  READ MORE: <a Offord demanded Holyrood bosses knock down walls for double sized office<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Campbell, head of Henderson Loggie\u2019s business recovery and insolvency team, said: \u201cAllan Corfield Architects has built a strong reputation in the self\u2011build sector over many years.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cLike many practices across the architecture and construction sector, the companies have faced a combination of rising costs and challenging trading conditions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cOur immediate priority as liquidator is to protect the position of the companies, their staff and creditors.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  DJI Architecture Ltd, founded by ACA\u2019s senior architectural technician David MacFarlane, took over both businesses, with some of the laid-off workers being offered jobs at the new firm.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Campbell added: \u201cBy negotiating the sale to DJI Architecture Ltd, we have secured continuity for clients and protected the future of ongoing projects, while retaining specialist knowledge within the new ownership structure.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  MacFarlane joined ACA in 2014 and said his immediate priorities for his new company were to bring stability to the team and its clients.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cWe now have the opportunity to build on everything that was good about ACA while creating a stronger, more collaborative and well-managed director of both ACA and ACS, thanked all his staff for their efforts over the years.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He said: \u201cAlthough it has been a very difficult and challenging time, it has been a pleasure to work with so many amazing clients and watch our talented team create stunning homes across the length and breadth of the UK.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cI would like to thank every client, member of staff and consultant who has been on this journey.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cI wish the new team the success that they deserve moving
