Quorum), with the outlet claiming that tracking suggests it could be the biggest domestic debut for both Cregger and the \u201cResident Evil\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n<p>They don\u2019t give a number, but the highest opening weekend for the franchise was \u201cResident Evil: Afterlife\u201d with $26.7 million while for Cregger it was \u201cWeapons\u201d with $43.5 million.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxofficepro.com\/long-range-forecast-can-resident-evil-revive-the-iconic-horror-franchise\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Box-Office Pro<\/a> is being more conservative, claiming it will come in just under \u201cWeapons\u201d with an opening in the $30-40 million range. <\/p>\n<p>The only other film opening in the next few weeks doing that kind of business is \u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d the week before, which is tipped to debut in the $35-45 million range.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the new \u201cResident Evil\u201d film go online next week, and new clips are emerging showing some scenes from a first-person perspective.
